Intro

Who I am.

Hi, I'm Chris, a WordPress, SEO and AI-assisted digital specialist based on the Cornish coast. CD Web is my personal portfolio and a place to share the work I have created across website development, SEO, digital strategy and AI-supported workflows. I enjoy building websites and tools that are fast, practical and easy to use, and I aim to make the whole process feel simple and reassuring for clients and collaborators.

I work with WordPress using Bricks Builder, Elementor, WPBakery and custom themes, and I also have experience with Shopify and WooCommerce. Beyond WordPress, I build modern web applications with Next.js, React and Prisma. My focus is always on clean builds, accessibility and performance — and I use a full SEO toolkit to make decisions based on data rather than guesswork.

Experience

What I have been up to.

For the past four years I have worked at one of Cornwall's leading web and design agencies. Working closely with such an experienced team has shaped the way I approach projects. I have learned how to combine UX and accessibility with clear SEO strategy, technical accuracy and a practical understanding of what makes a website perform well.

I have worked across a wide range of industries including tourism, property, hospitality and education. My experience covers WordPress development, SEO audits, site migrations, content optimisation and long-term performance improvements.

I also have a working knowledge of PHP, HTML, CSS and JavaScript, with some exposure to Python and Dart. I understand basic Git and algorithm concepts, which helps me troubleshoot efficiently and communicate clearly with other developers. While I am not a software engineer, I know enough to solve problems, adapt builds and work confidently across different tools.

Alongside client work, I build and maintain independent projects of my own — including Glass Slipper Run, a training and social app for runners, and a growing set of small tools and WordPress utilities that solve problems I run into personally. I also use AI as a controlled part of my professional workflow, from AI-visibility reporting to development planning, always reviewed manually for accuracy and judgement.

Personal

More about me.

Outside of work, I live by the coast and spend a lot of time outdoors. I enjoy nature, sea walks and time with family and my dog. I am naturally curious and enjoy anything that mixes logic and creativity, from books and games to tech puzzles and playing music.

Whatever the project, my approach stays the same. I try to make people feel supported and guided, especially if they are unsure where to start. I explain things in plain English, keep communication clear and aim to make the whole process enjoyable and easy to understand.

If you would like to chat about a project, a collaboration or something you are planning, I would be happy to talk.
